Beneath the veil of society

Hassan Khademi is immersed in several documentary projects, each delving into different facets of Iranian society and culture. Nahal Shekasteh (“Broken Sapling”) is his latest endeavor, a ten-part documentary series that explores the factors influencing juvenile delinquency. Commissioned by the Documentary Channel, this project aims to shed light on the complex causes behind youth crime. Alongside this, Khademi is producing a documentary about Shahryar Ahmadi, a prominent Iranian painter who has achieved significant success in the art market. He is also working on a documentary about Dr. Mohammad Sanati, the renowned Iranian psychoanalyst, as well as one focused on one of Iran’s most successful rock musicians. Furthermore, Khademi is developing a documentary exploring the economics of art in Iran, which will provide an insightful look into the financial landscape of the country’s creative industries.

It is also worth noting that Khademi has been the driving force behind the creation of documentaries on the Tehran Auction, Iran’s most significant art market. Over more than a decade of the Tehran Auction’s existence, Khademi has been responsible for documenting this pivotal event, offering an in-depth portrayal of the dynamics that shape the Iranian visual arts scene.
